ROM socket The ROM socket is a 28-pin socket fitting a 27C512 EEPROM or compatible. The ROM will function as a normal cartridge ROM, enabled by the cartridge port R2 (a.k.a. CART) signal, and appearing at $C000-$DFFF. A 27C512 EEPROM can contain 8 banks of 8KB each. The active bank can be selected by writing to bits 0-2 of the ROM selection register at $FF64. Bit 3 will use 16KB banks instead (selected by bits 1-2), appearing at $C000-$FEFF. Bit 4 will lock the ROM selection until power-off (not affected by reset). Board dimensions The dimensions of the board are 99 mm x 96 mm including edge connector. The mounting holes are placed to fit a cartridge enclosure for the Tandy FD-502 floppy disk controller or the CoCoSDC. Expansion connectors The MOOH has two unsoldered 2x10 headers (AUX and SPI) for connecting other units. The SPI header allows connecting 3 additional SPI devices. For each SPI channel there are /SEL, MOSI (shared), MISO, SCK, INT and GND pins. Additionally there are two 3.3V output pins. “Up” Outer edge “Down” 3.3V MISO1 MOSI INT1 MISO2 MOSI INT2 MISO3 MOSI INT3 3.3V* GND SCK /SEL1 GND SCK /SEL2 GND SCK /SEL3 *) Pin marked with arrow The AUX header can be used to connect a typical cartridge type device that would require data bus (d0-d7) and 2 register select bits (a0-a1). A “chip select” signal nXEN2 is enabled for addresses $FF68-$FF6B. Also 5V output, GND, /RESET, R/W, E, Q and P2 pins are available. The /RESET signal is buffered. “Up” Outer edge “Down” A0 D6 D4 D2 D0 GND /W /RESET E 5V* A1 D7 D5 D3 D1 GND Q GND /XEN2 /P2 *) Pin marked with arrow
